Swallowtail School is currently located in classrooms at the Friends Church in Hillsboro, Oregon. Though not affiliated, the school and church enjoy an excellent, mutually beneficial, and respectful relationship.

Swallowtail's teachers ensure that each classroom is comfortable and welcoming. Colors and decorations are chosen to reflect Waldorf principles regarding a given class's age and development. The school has also developed a fun, often busy, playground. Exercise is taken on the lawn in front of the school, at parks located within walking distance from Swallowtail, or at nearby Hare Field.
