Michaelmas (pronounced MICK-el-muss) is a traditional autumn festival that is celebrated at many Waldorf schools around the world. Michaelmas is a time to honor courageous deeds, large and small, as exemplified through the story of St. Michael. At Swallowtail, Michaelmas takes place at the Farm campus with a play that tells of one of St. Michael's good deeds. Each grade holds a special role in the play, with the story written each year by the eighth grade class.
