Why Children Need Outdoor Education

The Atlantic has an article about the importance of re-integrating childhood with the natural world. Time outdoors, especially during early childhood, builds strength, confidence, and problem-solving skills. The Waldorf curriculum keeps children close to nature throughout their educational journey. At Swallowtail, that reverence and familiarity with the natural world is supported by plenty of time outdoors (rain or shine) on our main campus and with regular trips to our farm campus in Hillsboro.
