Caitlin Campbell
Handwork

Caitlin grew up in Los Angeles, California. She spent her time as a kid swimming competitively, riding bikes, using her hands to create and draw. Caitlin first came to Waldorf education in kindergarten. She spent the next fourteen years learning in Waldorf schools. Caitlin loves the teaching method of meeting the child where they are developmentally. As someone who has struggled with various learning hindrances, Caitlin’s teachers saw her for who she is and adjusted the assignments to set her up for success.

After graduating high school, Caitlin went on to receive a Bachelors of Fine Arts in metal smithing at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan. She also studied glassblowing and ceramics. After college, Caitlin then went on to complete the Waldorf Teacher Training through the Waldorf Institute of Southern California as well as the Waldorf Practical Arts Teacher Training.

Caitlin has spent her life working with her hands. She believes that the practical arts are essential to our everyday lives. In her free time, Caitlin loves venturing into the mountains, forests and coastlines with her dog “Tuesday”, making baked goods, knitting/crocheting/sewing and anything art related. Growing up in Waldorf education and having a mother who has cycled two full classes and picked up a class in 5th grade, her appreciation for the way we teach runs deep.
