Submit an Application

  • Applicants who apply by our Early Decision deadline (Jan. 31) will be given preference over applications received later in the year. Applying by this deadline also makes it more likely that we will be able to meet your family's financial needs with tuition assistance.

  • A $100 non-refundable fee is charged for each submitted application.

Come meet with our teachers

  • Early Childhood families are invited to come in for a Family Visit. Typically held in small groups, these visits give children an opportunity to play and explore the classroom, while parents sit down with our teachers to learn more about the program and ask questions.

  • For students applying to the Grades, we schedule a one-on-one meeting with the appropriate class teacher. That meeting includes a brief academic assessment.

  • After the interview, we invite Grades applicants to join their prospective class for two to three visiting days, to ensure a good fit on both sides.

Complete enrollment paperwork

  • Due to space limitations, accepted applicants must return a signed contract within one week of the date on the acceptance letter.

  • At enrollment, non-refundable materials and facilities fees are due.

  • Families may pay their tuition in one lump payment (for a 3% discount), or select payment plans breaking tuition into 2 mid-year payments or monthly payments split over 10 or 12 months.

Our Approach

to Admissions

Swallowtail School has a multi-step application process, designed to give the family and school a chance to get to know one another before enrollment. The school community and individual families benefit when families stay at the school year after year, providing continuity for the children and teachers.

We know that this is more likely to happen when the experience of attending our school matches the expectations from the outset. To that end, we have created an admissions process that allows time to reflect before committing.
