Shannon has been an active member of the Swallowtail community for the last 10 years, initially as a supportive parent to her daughter Sophia who will graduate in the spring of 2024 and later as a staff member in the Early Childhood program. She worked as an assistant in three Early Childhood classes before beginning LifeWays training and accepting the role of Lead Teacher for the Honeybee Preschool class in the spring of 2021. 

Shannon’s life before Swallowtail was a blend of movement arts and therapeutic practice including 9 years locally as a massage therapist. Her professional training and education are concentrated in Contemporary Dance (NYU Tisch School of the Arts), Somatic Education (School for Body-Mind Centering & Laban/Bartenieff Institute for Movement Studies), and Massage Therapy (Windermere Institute of MassageTherapy). Shannon loves to share movement - movement for learning, healing, and development. She is passionate about embodied and integrative education particularly supporting children in their early developmental magic.
